There can be few pieces of land in Derbyshire with as colourful
and controversial history as the site of the former American
Adventure. Put up for sale in 2007, Derbyshire County Council has
now selected a preferred developer to take on most of the site, with
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust in line to get the rest. Claire Duffin
finds out about the site's past and what is in store for its future.
WHERE rollercoasters and a Wild West rodeo show once entertained
crowds of thousands, there now stand lumps of concrete foundations,
covered with grass and weeds.
