Article: Claremont Community Foundation set to celebrate 20th anniversary

CLAREMONT - It's been 20 years and growing for the Claremont Community Foundation.

And what better way to celebrate than with a garden party, delicious food and a specially designed cocktail, "Sticky Monkey." The flower of the same name has been proclaimed the city's official flower in honor of the foundation's two decades of existence.

"I know it's a funny name, but the flower grows locally in the foothills, is drought-tolerant and is cultivated at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden," Nickie Cleaves, foundation executive director, said with a chuckle.

"We're honored to have had a flower named in our honor and we are very happy to be celebrating 20 years."
