Article: Forum plants ideas to grow Ways sought to boost state economy

Spurred by a report that says Wisconsin ranks among the bottom 10 states in creating well-paying jobs, a debate began to take shape Thursday over what to do about it.

Ideas ranging from the creation of a statewide economic development plan to a demand for detailed positions from candidates in the next governor's election emerged from those attending a meeting of the Wisconsin Innovation Network.

Underlying the suggestions was a nagging concern that the state lacks the initiative and leadership to address the problem.
