Article: Golden Eagles will be tested early in the Big East

A young and inexperienced Marquette Golden Eagles team had better do plenty of growing up early this season.

Three games against the two teams picked by many observers to finish 1-2 in the Big East Conference -- with two of those on the road -- highlight the opening stretch of the squad's conference schedule, which was released Thursday.

MU will kick off its fifth season in the Big East on Dec. 29 at West Virginia, its earliest start to league play to date. The Golden Eagles then host Villanova in their home opener on Jan. 2, the second time in as many seasons they'll start at the Bradley Center with the Wildcats.
