CHEYENNE - Though money is tight, the front of the state Capitol is still expected to get a makeover next summer.

"The front of the Capitol is majestic, and we're hiding it," Secretary of State Max Maxfield said.

He has been the State Building Commission's point person on the project. The commission hopes to act on designs for the front of the building on Oct. 8.

Rich Cathcart, state construction manager, said the estimate on plans to do the makeover is $380,000.

"However, that price could change," he added.

Design work is in progress, and firmer numbers should be ready for the October commission meeting, Cathcart said.
