Article: Los Olivos gets watering system

UPLAND - The residents at Los Olivos are putting down their hoses in order to let technology take over.

The public housing project, which is operated by the Upland Housing Authority, was recently re-landscaped with new turf and plants as well as a new Web-based controller to monitor watering schedules.

Prior to the redesign, there was no form of irrigation on the property at 1200 N. Campus Ave.

Residents manually watered the grass and plants surrounding their homes with hoses.

The residents are just starting to get used to it, said Mary Mota, authority project manager.
