Fellow foodies, we are gathered together to remember the dearly
departed: Primitivo Wine Bar, Blue Vervain Restaurant, Palapa's
Surfside Island Dining, Ranch Steakhouse, Flavors on Tejon and Plate
World Cuisine.
Those restaurants were loved. They received rave reviews and
awards. But affection and framed plaques couldn't keep the doors
open.
The latest closing - that of the once-innovative-and-edgy Plate
World Cuisine - prompted a lively debate on the Gazette Dining Blog.
"Was Plate, like Primitivo, just too much for our little burg?"
