Science tells us water and electricity don't mix.
Science has changed.
In fact, if the guys at C.H. Guernsey & Co. have anything to say
about it, water and electricity are ready to become fast friends.
And, in a Flash-Gordon-meets-MacGyver type of approach, water - from
the sea, to be exact - can be used to generate electricity, at least
in certain parts of the world where the ocean is deep and the water
is cold.
Sheldon Hunt, vice president and Pacific region manager for
Guernsey, said water and electricity can be friends. In fact, by
using a technique called Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion, Hunt said
seawater-generated electricity could be used to power many sites on
the globe.
