To beat Las Lomas in this year's "Battle of the Creek" showdown, Northgate High's football team is going to have to buck some rough trends.

A look at the teams' recent matchups reveals this: Northgate has played the Knights once a year since 2000, with Las Lomas winning eight of the nine. The Broncos haven't scored in the rivalry since 2005, and the combined score of the past three games has been 162- 0.

So, why might things be any different when Northgate hosts Las Lomas at 1 p.m. on Saturday?
