Talbots shares soar after bank report

HINGHAM - Shares in Talbots Inc. soared on Thursday after two investment banks upgraded the Hingham-based retailer's stock. Talbots received improved grades from Citigroup and Piper Jaffray. That sent the apparel company's stock up by 17.4 percent to close at $8.16 a share on Thursday. A Citigroup analyst reported that revenues at established Talbots stores could turn positive within six months.
