Less than two years after a Roanoke band lost all its gear in a
rehearsal space fire, the band reports that it has lost more than
$5,000 of music equipment in a break-in at another practice room.
Roanoke police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson confirmed the report of
a theft at The Situationist's rehearsal space in the 1400 block of
Cleveland Avenue Southwest. No arrests have been made in the
incident, which took place early Monday, Johnson wrote in an e-
mail.
A mysterious fire in January 2008 destroyed the old Ideal Laundry
and Dry Cleaning Co. building on Church Avenue, and destroyed or
damaged gear that belonged to several bands who rented space there.
