Enough's enough: After months of seeking specific answers, and
getting none, about the decrepit Westmoreland Glass factory site,
Hempfield's supervisors have scheduled a Sept. 28 vote on whether to
declare the former glassworks a public hazard so it can be razed.
That's fair, as Beacon Pennsylvania Holdings Inc., the site's owner,
has had ample opportunity to address public concerns. A resolution
shouldn't have taken this long.
At what price?: How much will it cost taxpayers to resolve a
lawsuit that accuses the Hempfield Area School District of illegally
eavesdropping on private conversations of school bus drivers? No one
