Catharine S. Gormley, 86, who taught Spanish in Fairfax County
from 1982 until 2002 and also gave piano lessons from her home, died
Aug. 13 at her home in Annandale. She had Alzheimer's disease.
Mrs. Gormley taught at Lee, Falls Church and Fairfax high schools
as well as Frost middle school during her 20 year teaching career.
From the 1960s until the early 2000s she taught piano to children
and adults in the Annandale area.
Catharine Barbara Sklarski was born in Marianna, Pa. From 1944 to
1947, she was a supply sergeant in the Army Air Forces stationed in
China. She received a bachelor's degree in Spanish in 1982 and a
master's degree in foreign languages in 1988, both from George Mason ...
