COAL
* Scott Pack has been named executive vice president of sales at
Alpha Natural Resources Inc. and president of Alpha Coal Sales Co.,
following Alpha Natural Resources' merger with Foundation Coal
Holdings Inc. Pack succeeds Joachim "Jack" Porco.

* Leonard J. "Joe" Timms Jr. of Bridgeport has been elected
president-elect of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering
and Surveying, a national nonprofit organization composed of
engineering and surveying licensing boards representing all states
and U.S. territories. Timms has been a member of the West Virginia
