Article: 'Daily dose' restriction goes too far, some say Proposal on drug- like substances in schools would limit quantities

Elmbrook administrators have relaxed a proposed policy change aimed at limiting the types of medications students can carry in school, but some School Board members said the would-be rules are still too strict.

The latest version of the policy would limit students to carrying no more than a daily dose of some over-the-counter cough and allergy medicines "for legitimate personal use."

Board member Meg Wartman said the policy remains too rigid and suggested dropping the "daily dose" limit.

"To me, (for legitimate personal use) is all it needs to say," she said.
