Article: Library remodel progresses

Pay no attention to the men behind the curtain.

No, the Wizard of Oz has not come to the Elm Grove Public Library, but construction crews are working their own magic on the children's area, now behind a heavy plastic curtain.

Work is expected to be completed in just three weeks.

"We don't want to have the (children's) area closed for a long period of time," said Kathy Tussing, a member of the Friends of Elm Grove Library, the group funding the $40,000 renovation.

Service not disrupted

Children can still check out books, thanks to the work of volunteers who placed the picture and easy-reader books on moveable shelves, known as book trucks, last week.
