Last chance to see 'The Wiz'

BRENTWOOD -- Brentwood Teen Theatre presents "The Wiz" tonight and Saturday at Resurrection Ministries, 1275 Fairview Ave.

Like "Wicked," "The Wiz" is closer in plot to the original book than the movie version of "The Wizard of Oz." The stage adaptation being presented in Brentwood is much cheerier than the Diana Ross/ Michael Jackson movie version, too.

The cast of The Wiz includes Brentwood's Rachel Wirtz as Dorothy, Connor Johnson as The Tinman, and brother and sister Ryan and Amber Maurice as the Scarecrow and Lion.

Antioch's Ali Travis is The Wiz.

"The Wiz" is the culmination of a 13-week training in theater arts.
