A bail bonds company will get back some of the money lost after
it put up $250,000 for a Butler County man who fled the area and
evaded authorities for four years until his arrest last spring.
Westmoreland County Judge John Blahovec, in an eight-page opinion
filed Tuesday, said investigatory work done by Liberty Bail Bonds
was partially responsible for the eventual capture of Ralph "Pretty
Boy" Skundrich in Florida.
Blahovec forfeited Skundrich's bond in 2005 after he cut off an
ankle bracelet and fled from house arrest while awaiting trial in
Westmoreland County on charges that he attempted to rob a Greensburg
grocery store executive in his Indiana County home.
