Article: Wilson edged out of PGA FedEx Cup

Menomonee Falls native Mark Wilson stood in the Cog Hill fairway Sunday afternoon in Lemont, Ill. after launching a 305-yard drive that put him about 187 yards away from the 18th hole.

A nearby electronic leader board indicated Wilson had to birdie the 497 yard, par-4 to have any hope of advancing to the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup championship round.

Rather than playing a conservative second shot to near the center of the green, Wilson took aim at the flag stick on the far left edge of the putting surface near the edge of a pond.

He later said the shot felt good as it left his iron and began soaring over the fairway and across the pond.
