D.C. residents can apply for discounts on their utility bills
Thursday at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
The city government will accept applications for discounts on
services from Washington Gas, Pepco, the D.C. Water and Sewer
Authority and Verizon at the Joint Utility Discount Day from 8 a.m.
to 7 p.m. at the convention center, 801 Mount Vernon Pl. NW.
Applicants should bring proof of household income, photo
identification, a Social Security card, a recent lease or rent
receipt and recent utility bills for electricity, gas, telephone and
