EU approves Danish energy company's bid for German peer

BRUSSELS, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- The European Commission on Wednesday approved Danish energy company DONG Naturgas's bid for German energy wholesaler Kom-Strom.

The commission, the European Union's competition guardian, said after examining the bid that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition.
