MIAMI
Flight to Boston diverted back to airport
An American Airlines flight from Miami to Boston was diverted
back to Miami International Airport last night because of a security
concern, an airline spokesman said. The 168 passengers and six crew
members aboard Flight 1640 left the Miami airport at 9:31 and
returned about 45 minutes later, spokesman Billy Sanez said. A
spokesman for the Miami airport said a note was found in the
lavatory suggesting an explosive was onboard. Passengers got off the
aircraft and were bused to the terminals, where they waited for
another plane. There were no reports of injuries. US Transportation
