Article: Sunday's Race for the Cure in Bangor may draw 5,000

BANGOR - The Race for the Cure is expected to draw about 5,000 participants to the waterfront Sunday to raise money for breast cancer research.

Main Street between Cedar and Buck streets will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to accommodate the crowd. Other streets along the route will be closed at various times during the race as participants reach those sections of the course.

The event will begin on Front Street near the Sea Dog Brewing Co., proceed to May and Summer streets, then turn onto Main Street at Cedar Street. Runners and walkers will turn right onto Lincoln Street, then left onto Webster Avenue and left again on Buck Street before heading back up Main Street to Railroad Street.
