BANGOR - The Race for the Cure is expected to draw about 5,000
participants to the waterfront Sunday to raise money for breast
cancer research.
Main Street between Cedar and Buck streets will be closed from
9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to accommodate the crowd. Other streets along
the route will be closed at various times during the race as
participants reach those sections of the course.
The event will begin on Front Street near the Sea Dog Brewing
Co., proceed to May and Summer streets, then turn onto Main Street
at Cedar Street. Runners and walkers will turn right onto Lincoln
Street, then left onto Webster Avenue and left again on Buck Street
before heading back up Main Street to Railroad Street.
