Dennis Stout left San Bernardino County taxpayers holding the bag
for hundreds of thousands of dollars in sexual harassment lawsuit
settlements after being voted out of office in 2002.
Now Mr. Stout says he's considering another run for DA as a
"corruption fighter" ("Former DA considering another run," Sept.
10). Who is he kidding? County voters have already rendered their
judgment of Mr. Stout's record by overwhelmingly rejecting his re-
election as district attorney. Why would we want him back?
While the District Attorney's Office does have some problems that
need to be addressed, I believe incumbent DA Mike Ramos is far
better qualified to lead this vital county crime-fighting agency.
