SPECIAL SESSION ON TAXES - A Special Town Meeting will be held on Nov. 16 to consider enacting a local-option tax on restaurant meals and raise the levy on hotel rooms. The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously Monday to convene the session, based on the potential for the new taxes to boost the town's revenues. Last month, Town Manager Brian Sullivan told the board that he supports the additional meals tax, noting that surrounding communities such as Cambridge and Boston have already done so.
