SCOTLAND'S biggest food and wine school is to open in the heart
of Edinburgh's New Town - bankrolled by one of the nation's richest
men.
The head of the Salvesen business dynasty, whose roots in the
capital date back to 1872, is behind the multi-million-pound
venture, which is expected to open before Christmas.
Food industry tycoon Alastair Salvesen has joined Fiona Burrell,
a veteran food writer, to transform a former Queen Street townhouse
in a project believed to be worth at least GBP 2 million.
The five-storey cookery school is being created in former
insurance firm offices, just yards away from the Scotch Malt Whisky
Society, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the Jam House ...
