Penn State's special teams have been anything but special.
While kicker Collin Wagner and punter Jeremy Boone have done
their jobs well, every other aspect of the Nittany Lions' special
teams can use a tune-up.
Penn State has been significantly outplayed when it comes to its
return game. The punt and kick coverage has been average, but could
be better.
"We haven't had very many good punt returns," said safety Drew
Astorino, who lines up as a punt returner. "I think all special
teams (units) have to step up a little bit."
Penn State's return game lost a lot of pep in its step when the
Lions return specialist Derrick Williams graduated to the NFL.
