Traffic jam, stranded travelers color traditional mass exodus in Indonesia

JAKARTA, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Two days ahead of the Idul Fitri, which marks the end of the 30 day-fasting month in Islam religion, millions of Indonesians are heading for their hometowns, villages as well as tourist resorts throughout the country to celebrate the occasion with relatives.

This mass exodus caused severe traffic jams in ports, bus and train stations in the most populous Muslim country in the world.

At least 27.25 million travelers is expected this year in the runup to and during Islamic festivity of Idul Fitri, which is likely to fall on Sunday.
