Article: Festival in Oklahoma City to celebrate Hispanic culture

When the first Fiestas de las Americas was organized four years
ago, the goal was to increase awareness of the Capitol Hill area and
promote its multicultural heritage.
"The purpose of the festival is to celebrate the Hispanic culture
and to share it with the entire populace of Oklahoma City and
Oklahoma," said Jeri Montgomery, director of Capitol Hill Main
Street.
This year's fourth annual Fiestas de las Americas on Oct. 3 is
expected to deliver the festival's message to an even larger
audience. Attendance at past festivals has been estimated at 10,000
to 15,000, but even more people are expected to attend this year,
Montgomery said.
