William J. "Bill" Marshall, 86, of 990 Althauser Ave., died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center- Dubuque.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Steven J. Rosonke officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 3 p.m.

He was born on Feb. 20, 1923, in Dubuque, son of Harry and Alberta (Connolly) Marshall. Bill graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. He served as a corporal in the Army during ...
