Article: Tall Ships witness a sea change in Belfast

THE return of the Tall Ships should be a celebration of what Northern Ireland has achieved in the 18 years since the vessels last docked in Belfast, according to the man behind the massive event.

More than 30 magnificent vessels are due to sail into Belfast Harbour in two weeks' time and welcome crews from across the world.

And the city will host a huge four-day celebration marking the finale of the Atlantic Challenge.

Dr Gerard O'Hare, chairman of the Tall Ships board, said around 400,000 visitors are expected to descend into Northern Ireland between August 13 and 16.
