Blockbuster allies with Suddenlink

Blockbuster Inc., the movie-rental company, announced an alliance with cable provider Suddenlink Communications.

The companies said that starting this month in Charleston, key aspects of Suddenlink's video-on-demand movie service will begin carrying the Blockbuster brand. Also, Suddenlink will promote its services with kiosks and other promotions in Blockbuster stores.

Suddenlink said future cooperation will likely include offering its customers Blockbuster's mail, vending, and in-store services "so that consumers looking for a movie that may not be available on demand can instead search among Blockbuster's entire Blu-ray and DVD library."
