The Skylight Opera Theatre's next managing director won't need help finding the building, or a pep talk on how passionate its performers and fans are.

When Amy S. Jensen sits in the big chair for the first time Nov. 16, she'll return to an institution she served before and a company she loves. She and her mother, Carol, have cooked and baked for the casts of many Skylight productions.

The Skylight's board of directors announced the appointment of Jensen on Wednesday as the next leader of a performing arts group that nearly foundered this summer.
