To those who know him, Paul G. Kirk Jr. is not only the trusted
adviser of the Kennedy clan, but a quiet fixer with a reassuring
demeanor. An intimate family friend who is comfortable working in
the shadows, he is also a savvy, adroit deal maker who has grappled
with some of the most emotional rifts in Democratic party politics.
