Wente Family Estates is expanding in Livermore with a new
distribution and administrative center, and some other vintners have
just uncorked new operations in the East Bay wine region.
The growth for Wente, a wine industry titan, and the arrival of
new boutique wineries are signs the Livermore Valley is managing to
combat an economy that has soured the operations of numerous
businesses.
"The challenges in this economy for our wineries are real," said
Chris Chandler, executive director of the Livermore Valley
Winegrowers Association. "But people are still investing and
exploring opportunities in the region."
