Rotary hears about new park, inducts new member

Michael Stokes (top), director of Bedford County Parks and Recreation, addressed about 25 members of the Rotary Club of Smith Mountain Lake on Sept. 10. Stokes described the progress and plans for the new Moneta Park, currently under construction, on Rucker Road off of Virginia 122 in Moneta. Based on the Master Plan, Moneta Park will offer several ball fields and nature trails for hiking and walking. During the meeting, the club inducted Gary Guengerich (above), who was congratulated by Bob Bryden and inducted by Bob Ayers. Guengerich has a background in corporate finance.
