After a lifetime of new places -- and citizenship in three countries -- Frederick G. Young found a permanent home in his woods near Two Rivers.

His story began in Manchester, England, where he had a hard- scrabble youth until joining the British Royal Navy at 16. Years later, he moved to Canada and became a citizen, but his real goal was to live in the United States.

"He came to the states in 1968 to work at the Point Beach nuclear power plant," said daughter Penny Young. "He came to work for Wisconsin Electric while Bechtel was building the plant."

A few years later, Young went to work for the Bechtel company, traveling the country, but kept his home and land in Two ...
