Article: Walk on Saturday will benefit the hungry ?

DERBY -- Autumn has arrived and that means it's time once again to take a hike for a worthy cause.

The 12th annual Area Congregations Together Inc.'s Walk for the Hungry and Homeless steps off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, rain or shine, at the Division Street entrance to the Derby Greenway.

ACT Executive Director Susan J. Agamy said the fundraising goal is $16,000 this year. Last year the walk netted about $11,000.

Pre-registration is not required, and walkers may start whenever they arrive.

The round-trip walk is almost 4 miles, and water bottles will be available at the half-way point.
