John Kerry obviously was determined not to repeat the culinary
mistake that some people believe cost him the White House in 2004.
At a stop in Philadelphia during his failed presidential
campaign, the Massachusetts senator and hubby of Pittsburgh pickle
heiress Teresa Heinz stopped at Pat's King of Steaks and infamously
ordered a cheesesteak with Swiss cheese.
Everyone knows people in Philly put Cheez Whiz on their
cheesesteaks. Kerry never recovered from the embarrassing miscue.
Kerry's handlers had him better prepared last week for a story on
the Politico Web site about where President Obama and various heads
of state should eat or drink during the Group of 20 summit.
