Article: ISU eyes physical challenge

NORMAL - Illinois State coach Brock Spack is much more concerned about execution than strategy as his Redbirds welcome No. 17-ranked South Dakota State to Hancock Stadium today for a 7 p.m. Missouri Valley Football Conference game.

"They are a very impressive team. I enjoy watching them play. They are right where they're supposed to be," Spack said. "They remind me a lot of University of Iowa or old Wisconsin teams when Coach (Barry) Alvarez was there. They do what they do, and they really don't care much about what you do."

Spack expects ISU (1-2 overall) to be physically challenged in its conference opener by a Jackrabbits' team that has outscored two opponents by a margin of 85-6.
