Bridging the Gap winners
The Greater Baltimore Committee presented its 2009 Bridging the
Gap Awards to five Baltimore-area companies, a majority-minority
partnership and two individuals. The awards recognize successful
minority-owned and women-owned companies and advocates of minority
entrepreneurship. Honored last week for achievement by a minority or
woman-owned business were: District Healthcare; Encore Path Inc.;
Mjach Designs; and Technology Specialists Inc. Turner Construction
Co. was lauded for the training program it provides to small,
minority- and women-owned businesses. The University of Maryland
Medical System earned plaudits for its vendor diversity program.
