Article: Hillsborough artist Doriane Heyman reflects on her 'Colorful Journey

Hillsborough artist Doriane Heyman, known primarily for her watercolors, is showing new paintings in acrylic at Portola Art Gallery throughout October. A reception for "A Colorful Journey" will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

All paintings are from the last year. Heyman says she has enjoyed working in the acrylic medium. "I was ready for a change," she notes, "and I like to work larger."

Heyman grew up in the Netherlands and has lived in a number of European countries. Europe continues to inspire many of her paintings.
