THE BATMOBILE is parked in Pomona.
Specifically, it's parked in the National Hod Rod Association
Museum at Fairplex, but only through Friday. This isn't the Hummer-
like Batmobile from the recent movies but the Adam West Batmobile
from the 1960s TV series.
"We've had kids who say it doesn't look like the Batmobile,"
museum spokeswoman Monique Valadez says. "Their parents explain
about the TV show and share their memories of watching it."
Must be (yawn) fascinating for the kids.
Well, this may be their father's Batmobile, but it's also mine.
So when Valadez invited me to view the vehicle and even sit inside -
a privilege not afforded the general public - I escaped from the
death-trap that is ...
