An organic dairy farmer who won the supreme award in this year's
Waikato Ballance Farm Environment Awards, Gray Baldwin, is urging
his fellow farmers not to find excuses to enter next year's
competition.
Entries open on Thursday for the new contest.
Mr Baldwin, his wife Marilyn and sharemilkers Hamish and Jane
Putt won the supreme award in this year's competition in March, for
the way they run their 410-cow farm, west of Putaruru.
The judges selected their farm because they had "sustainability
in mind throughout the business".
Mr Baldwin, a former chief executive of Ballance-owned Summit-
