Article: School Board member shared life's lessons Bob Kitchen knew the value of education

West Allis -- To Bob Kitchen, a good education was the ticket to success in life, and he did his best to ensure others were on the right path.

He stressed the value of education to his children and grandchildren. He took a public lead through his service on the West Allis-West Milwaukee School Board. He set an example by personally engaging in lifelong learning.

"He felt education was very important -- that without it, it was very difficult to find your way through life," said his wife of 58 years, Marlene.

Family members, friends and the West Allis-West Milwaukee community are now mourning his loss. Kitchen died suddenly Sept. 22 at age 80.
