FORT LEE -- The Army Best Warrior Competition, which began
Monday, kicks into high gear today with the 24 soldier and non-
commissioned officer competitors beginning the day with a physical-
fitness test.
This year one of Fort Lee's own is competing. Sgt. Lauren Aldaco -
- assigned to the 217th Military Police Detachment on post. Aldaco
has been on post for the past two years. In a way, Aldaco has a
symbolic home-field advantage since the annual competition is held
at Fort Lee.
In order to compete in this year's Army-wide event, Aldaco said
she had to go through many other levels including a unit board
appearance, garrison soldier of the quarter, garrison soldier of the
