As the calendar turns and college football conference play is
just around the bend, West Virginia ranks 15th nationally in passing
and 10th in total offense. With rebuilding Colorado visiting
Mountaineer Field tonight, did you really expect WVU to be averaging
101 more yards through the air than on the turf? Coach Bill Stewarts
offense this season has thrown for 334 yards against East Carolina
and 302 against Auburn the last two times out. The only other game
in the last nine seasons that WVU reached 300 air yards was in last
seasons Muffler Bowl victory over North Carolina (332). The
Mountaineers hadnt reached 300 passing yards in back-to-back games
