Article: Leaked tape of E. Haven mayor spurs probe

EAST HAVEN -- The Board of Police Commissioners will ask three state agencies to investigate how a police recording of Mayor April Capone Almon's call during a much-chronicled July incident at a town beach parking lot was leaked to a TV station, Chairman Fred Brow said Wednesday.

The board voted Tuesday night to send letters to the New Haven State's Attorney's Office, the Chief State's Attorney's Office and state police after failing to get a satisfactory answer any other way, Brow said.

"We can't get an answer" and "the (police) chief won't say what kind of investigation, if any, he did," Brow said. So the board will seek that answer from outside agencies ...
