Roundup: Philippine shares close flat on fallout of Ketsana

MANILA, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine market closed flat on Wednesday as the country is assessing the extent of damage wrought by tropical typhoon "Ondoy" (international code name: " Ketsana") in certain properties.

The bellwether Philippine Stock Exchange index went down 0.23 percent or 6.50 points to 2,800.82, while the all share index dropped 0.06 percent or 1.23 points to 1,787.09. For the whole month of September, the market has lost 2.89 percent.

Trade volume rose as some 2.7 billion shares valued at 3.06 billion pesos (64.29 million U.S. dollars) changed hands.

Only one of the six subsector indices continued growth. ...
