We have intercepted this missive on its way to Talkback: "Dear
Wendy, myself and my friend Hyacinth had just settled down to watch
BBC1 before a little light husband swapping when we were shocked and
dismayed to hear an accent I later discovered was from west of the
Bann on my television.
"Never have I been so offended. I was so shocked I dropped my
triple gin. I have never heard of such a thing. I pay my licence fee
so that all of those people are kept far away and off my screen.
Hyacinth said she remembered an accent from West of the Bann on her
television making her father so apoplectic he died of a stroke.
Please, BBC, flash up a warning in future. Yours etc, Helen Bay,
North Down."
